What is a B- grade worth?
A B- is worth 2.7 grade points on the standard US 4.0 scale, and usually maps to a percentage range of 80–82%. That grade-point value is what gets averaged (weighted by credits) across your courses to produce your GPA.
How a B- affects your GPA
Each course pulls your GPA toward that course’s grade points. A B- pulls yours toward 2.7: if your current GPA is higher, a B- drags it down; if it’s lower, a B- lifts it — and the more credits the course is worth, the bigger the effect. See exactly how with the GPA calculator.
