About GPA Calculator

A free, fast, private set of GPA and grade calculators, built to be clearer and quicker than the alternatives.

What this is

GPA Calculator is a small collection of tools for working out your grades: a GPA calculator for college, high school and cumulative GPA; grade and final grade calculators for individual classes; and a GPA scale converter for turning letters and percentages into the 4.0 scale. Everything is free, needs no sign-up, and works on any device.

Why we built it

The existing GPA calculators mostly work, but they tend to be slow, cluttered with ads and illustrations, or awkward on a phone — exactly when you’re trying to answer a simple question fast. We wanted one that loads instantly, stays out of your way, and does the math correctly, including the parts other tools skip: weighted AP/Honors/IB grades, multi-semester cumulative GPA, and “what do I need on the final.”

How it works

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your entries are saved locally so they’re still there when you come back, and the Copy link button packs your data into a URL you can bookmark or share. Nothing you type is uploaded, tracked, or stored on a server. The site is built as static pages with almost no JavaScript, which is why it loads and responds so quickly.

A note on accuracy

We use the most common US grading conventions — the standard 4.0 scale, and +0.5/+1.0 weighting for Honors and AP/IB classes. But schools genuinely differ: grade cutoffs, whether pluses and minuses count, and how weighting works all vary. Treat the results as a reliable estimate, and check your school’s official policy or registrar for anything that matters — like honors eligibility, financial aid, or a transcript GPA.
