What is a A+ grade worth?
A A+ is worth 4.0 grade points on the standard US 4.0 scale, and usually maps to a percentage range of 97–100%. That grade-point value is what gets averaged (weighted by credits) across your courses to produce your GPA.
How a A+ affects your GPA
Each course pulls your GPA toward that course’s grade points. A A+ pulls yours toward 4.0: if your current GPA is higher, a A+ drags it down; if it’s lower, a A+ lifts it — and the more credits the course is worth, the bigger the effect. See exactly how with the GPA calculator.
